Brisbane, Australia (PressExposure) November 11, 2013 -- Local engineering firm, EMF Griffiths, is part of the Cbus Property team that won the bid for the State's 1 William Street project.
The 126,000sqm GFA Commercial Office Project - which will accommodate several central State Government Agencies is currently the largest single commercial tower of its type in Australia and is set to revitalise the central parliamentary precinct of George and William Streets.
EMF Griffiths is a part of the Cbus Property winning team which has procured Brookfield Multiplex to build the 45-storey tower that is set to transform the Brisbane riverfront skyline.
The project features extensive gardens and a civic space on the ground floor, a 12-metre high entrance foyer, 75,000sqm of office space, 1,169sqm of retail space and carparking for 318 cars.
EMF Griffiths scope of involvement in the project includes the Base Building works through to the complete integrated fitout of the State Government offices.
EMF Griffiths Managing Director, Warren Barfett, said the company's Brisbane office had been working on the intricate initial designs since the start of the year.
"This is the largest project we have been commissioned for and we are very proud to be a part of this iconic Brisbane development" he said.
"Our team has developed innovative engineering designs, with a high level of input, at the conceptual stage of the development, taking into consideration Cbus Property's vision for this iconic new project.
Brisbane's second tallest tower will house approximately 4,600 public servants, across 60,000sqm while approximately 15,000sqm will be available for lease by the State Government for the private sector when the building is completed in 2016.
Mr Barfett, said his company is responsible for all building services including mechanical, electrical, communications and data services, security, lighting, hydraulics and fire services.
He said EMF Griffiths have developed a world class specialist ESD team over the past 14 years.
EMF Griffiths have previously worked on a variety of large-scale office, commercial and retail projects in Brisbane including Brisbane Square, Suncorp Tower Two, Riparian Plaza and 55 Elizabeth Street (ATO Fitout). The company has also engineered award winning high rises including the iconic Wave Tower, Circle on Cavill, Soul and Oracle on the Gold Coast.
