Warwickshire, United Kingdom (PressExposure) March 09, 2012 -- Worcester Technology College have recently installed a Celsius EcoCooling evaporative cooling system providing cooling to the Main Data Room, a system of Photovoltaic Cells (PV) were also installed as part of the same project by Celsius to provide the power for the installation.
The PV cells are linked in the National Grid and the college is paid 43p per KW/hr for the power as a feed in tariff. This is truly a Green Carbon neutral installation. The EcoCooling system replaces the use of three wall mounted Mitsubishi units, each of these used to consume upto 4KW of power each. The EcoCooling system consumes less than 1.7KW of power in total.
Celsius undertook the full installation including the PV cells, wiring, water pipework and all installation work with the Data Centre fully working at all times, there was no down time.
Jim Jackson, director, said, "We lead the field in the technological advancement of Data centre cooling using low energy solutions, our Evaporative cooling systems use less than 10% of the electricity used by conventional Computer Room Air Conditioning units (CRAC's), but still maintain ASHRAE compliant environments within the Data Centres."
Jim further quoted, "However, the real benefit is in the annual running costs, as these will be in the region of £35,000.00 per annum less with Celsius Evaporative cooling than CRAC's and saving over 270 tonnes of carbon per annum - a truly massive saving year after year."
Celsius Design Limited have supplied and installed more Evaporative cooling systems in Data Centres, Computer Rooms, Server Rooms and IT Rooms than any other company in the World. Providing a Green cooling alternative to air conditioning.
This is the ideal way to cool your Data Centre and save thousands of pounds on installation costs, annual running costs and also thousands of tonnes of Carbon emissions per annum. Environmentally friendly, low energy cooling at its best.
