Tomsk, Russian Federation (PressExposure) July 23, 2009 -- Elecard Devices CJSC, a leading developer of codecs and products for digital video,today announced the release of Elecard Codec SDK G4 v.1.3, a software development kit for creating digital video encoding and playback applications using Elecard components within the MicrosoftÂ® DirectShowÂ® technology.
The highlight of the new Codec SDK is the three following special purpose editions of Elecard MPEG-2 Codec:
â¢ 16K Edition Â it possible for you to encode and decode images with resolution up to â¢ 16K x 16K pixels. â¢ Low Delay Edition Â provides less than 100 ms delay in the compression chain for capturing, encoding, TS multiplexing, demultiplexing, decoding. â¢ Lossless Edition Â allowstranscoding of compressed content with PSNR up to 60db â¢ 16K and Low Delay MPEG-2 Codec Editions are included in Elecard Codec SDK G4 v.1.3, Lossless Edition is available by request.

Another significant improvement in the SDK Codec Set is Elecard ClearWork denoising filter, a part of the well-known Elecard Codec Works. Now SDK customers can work with a component that enables achieving the highest quality of the encoded image by reducing the level of high frequency noise, as well as lowering the bit rate of a compressed stream, without affecting the image quality. The ClearWork filter exploits the NVIDIA CUDA architecture for scaling up performance, thus making possible processing of resource-intensive operations without overloading CPU.
Elecard Codec SDK G4 v.1.3 also includes the new versions of the following components: Elecard AVC Video Encoder, Elecard NWSource Plus, Elecard MPEG Demultiplexer and Elecard MPEG Multiplexer.
Developers have implemented the two-pass encoding with full and fast first passes for the AVC encoder. The two-pass encoding considerably improves the quality, while the fast first pass makes it possible to get the best results reducing the encoding time. Elecard NWSource Plus has also been improved by eliminating the problems with synchronization when receiving elementary streams as well as the problem of data loss at high bit rates.
Elecard Codec SDK G4 v.1.3 includes sample applications that show how to work with 16K components and Elecard ClearWork filter. The set of samples also comprises SimpleCapture, which demonstrates working with video capture devices.
