Yonkers, NY (PressExposure) July 15, 2011 -- Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway and 100.7 WHUD Radio are looking for the Tri-State area's funniest first responder! Brave local firefighters and police officers from across the region - from New York's five boroughs to Westchester and the Hudson Valley - who have what it takes to make people laugh are invited to sign up at WHUD.com with the chance to test their jokes and comedy skills - a new definition of bravery! Entries chosen will be contacted by the WHUD promotions staff.
Hosted by WHUD's Mike Bennett at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway, the "Bravest vs. the Finest" will showcase selected participants who enter. Qualifying rounds will take place on August 11th, 18th, and 25th, and the Final showdown will be held on September 8th. With a $5 donation at the door, all proceeds will benefit a September 11th charity. The winner will receive a donation to the charity in their name, a Yonkers Raceway harness race named in their honor, dinner at Empire Terrace Dining Room overlooking the track, and a booking at one of Empire City's future Comedy Nights!
100.7 WHUD will begin promoting the contest to listeners in mid-July; all contestants will be chosen before this time. The public is welcome to attend the qualifying rounds and final to root for participants.
