Nairobi, Kenya (PressExposure) June 25, 2011 -- Leading Kenyan tourism information and on-line marketing provider, Enchanted Landscapes® today announced the introduction of its new range of interactive mapping and weather technologies aimed to give site visitors a whole new experience as they explore what Kenya has to offer.
"There are numerous websites that have come up in the recent past to showcase Kenya as a popular travel destination - especially with the tourism boom in the country. All are hoping to claim a share of this lucrative information delivery market. To remain the leader of the pack therefore calls for innovation at all levels and fronts of doing business", said Henry Kimathi, Chief Wizard (CW) at Enchanted Landscapes.
"Here at Enchanted Landscapes, we are now known for our culture of doing things differently. Be it our way of packaging otherwise obvious information in an exciting and appealing way or delving into unexplored realms to bring you information never before presented in the public domain or the use of a cutting-edge-mode of information delivery that simplifies access to information, the bottom line is being ahead of competition. We ensure that all our visitors get value for the time and money they spend on our site", he added.
Henry was speaking here in Nairobi when Enchanted Landscapes launched their new interactive geo-referenced maps based on Google Earth and Google Maps technologies. Enchanted Landscapes also unveiled their new weather service based on technology from Weather Forecast Maps that will be able to provide a 5-day weather forecast of major cities in Kenya.
"Google Earth, Google Maps and Weather Forecast Maps are not new innovations in web technology as such but it is the way we are using them at Enchanted Landscapes that stands out", said Henry.
At the time of launch, Enchanted Landscapes had just completed mapping 28 of Kenya's prime national parks and reserves which they said will be available as an added resource on their National Parks pages. "This makes our National Parks pages a complete one-stop-shop for directions, prices and park contacts. This is really an exciting time for us especially because it has been our dream to one day be able to offer content that adds value this way and this is something we shall be striving to do across all our other web content", said Juliet Murathe, PR Manager at Enchanted Landscapes.
In the next few months Enchanted Landscapes will be using this mapping technology to offer locational information across its entire website where directions to places and locations are crucial. "We can now be able with Google maps and GPS technology to provide and map out virtually any kind of information our visitors want to see on any of our maps - that is how scalable our maps are," said Henry.
The weather service is equally ground-breaking. With real-time data streaming at regular intervals, Enchanted Landscapes will now be able to provide a five-day weather picture of the major cities in Kenya. "A quick visit to our climate page will not only give you a general narrative overview of the climatic situation in Kenya, but you will also get an up-to-the-hour scenario of the general weather pattern for the next 5 days in our major cities including temperature, precipitation, among others," said Juliet Murathe Enchanted Landscapes' PR Manager.
Keep visiting our website as we work with you to give you a memorable experience of Kenya.
