Detroit, MI (PressExposure) August 23, 2009 -- The Detroit chapter of TiE, formerly known as âthe Indus Entrepreneursâ and now known as âTalent, Ideas, Enterprise,â announced Dr. Roger Newton as the keynote speaker for TiECon Midwest 2009, Michiganâs Largest Conference on entrepreneurship to be held October 23 and 24, 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton Dearborn. The announcement was made today by TiE Detroit President, Tel Ganesan.
Dr. Roger Newton is the Ann Arbor region's most renowned scientist, entrepreneur, educator and investor. From 1981-1998 Dr. Newton was with Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis (now Pfizer) as a Distinguished Scientist and Chairman of the Atherosclerosis Drug Discovery Team. He co-discovered and was the product champion of what is now the most prescribed cholesterol reducing drug in the world, Lipitor(R).
