Environment and Social Report 2009 Issued

London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) October 23, 2009 -- This year’s report, which marks the 10th edition since 2000, has two special features. The first feature is titled “Environmental technology: Senpaku ISHIN” which introduces an environment-friendly ship (car carrier) that MOL envisions as technically possible in the near future. Our approach is reflected by the words “Senpaku ISHIN.” Senpaku is a Japanese term for “vessel”, and ISHIN is the Japanese word for a complete revitalization or reform. We also interpret ISHIN as “Innovations in Sustainability backed by historically proven, INtegrated technologies” for this project. The second feature is called “Safe Operation report: Ensuring Safe Operation.” It reports MOL’s relentless safe operation measures from both software and hardware aspects and increased safety awareness.

MOL Group’s principles include “contributing to global economic growth and development, “promoting an open and visible management style that is guided by the highest ethical and social standards” and “protecting our environment by maintaining strict, safe operation and navigation standards” and the company works tirelessly to achieve those goals. The MOL Group seeks sustainable worldwide growth through corporate activities that address the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.
