Portsmotuh, United Kingdom (PressExposure) June 23, 2011 -- The docking station will be made from high quality stainless steel with a cylindrical base that has been formed using the metal spinning process. The base will be hand crafted by their highly skilled metal spinners to produce a unique and modern looking docking station. The docking station will have custom made adaptors to fit mostmodels including; iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (first and second generation), and iPod Classic. The docking station will have a standard power adaptor and a micro USB port similar to ones seen on digital cameras for connecting to a Windows computer or Apple Mac. Though this is the case with the recent announcement from Apple about OS 5 operating system that will be launched shortly, adds the feature that connects your iPhone or iPodTouch to your computer over your home WiFi network. This eliminates the need for this feature to be included in this premium docking station.
Speaking to Director Neil Hunt at Excell Metal Spinning Limited he explains why this feature has been included in the docking station. "The purpose of including the micro USB port was to make sure the product was accessible to older generation iPhones and iPods, as Apple will not be updating these older devices". This can be seen as a smart design move from Excell Metal Spinning as many people who have iPhones are in lengthy contracts with their mobile service and may not have had the chance to be able to upgrade yet.
Excell Metal Spinning Limited was formed in 2000 and supplies a number of metal components to a wide range of industries. It will come as little surprise that the company will look to expand into new markets as they have successfully done this on numerous occasions. Details are still limited as Excell Metal Spinning are currently looking for a number of suppliers to complete the product as they will only be making the shells of the docking stations. Having said this it will be interesting to see if this pay off for the company based on the south coast of the UK. Distribution will currently be focusing in the UK market once production has started, and will be targeting high end users that will be looking for a unique and high quality product.
Future developments in this product could see the docking station released in a number of different colours and there is the possiblity of a speaker system in the pipeline if the docking station is successful. While this product seems to currently be in the design stages of development it will be critical that Excell Metal Spinning teams up with the right sub-contractors to complete the end product that has a timeline for launching this Autumn.
