Marin, (PressExposure) June 22, 2009 -- The 30th annual Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo, the internationally acclaimed Celebration of Flesh, Fetish, and Fantasy, has again evidenced its longstanding commitment to promoting independent music. It is offering two prime-time, full-paying gigs exclusively to Indie artists. To be considered for the gigs, bands must apply by submitting their EPK (Electronic Press Kit) through Sonicbids at http://www.sonicbids.com/exoticerotic on or before September 14, 2009. All entries will be juried, rated and two winners will be chosen to play before thousands of masked, costumed, and otherwise elaborately attired fans at the 2009 Exotic Erotic Ball on October 24, 2009, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. The 2009 show marks the Ballâs third annual collaboration with Sonicbids.
Perry Mannâs Exotic Erotic Ball has been called âThe Worldâs #1 Wildest and Sexiest Partyâ by E! Entertainment TV, the â#1 Adult Festival in the World,â by AskMen.com, âThe #1 Party Event on the Planetâ by HDTV, âThe Greatest Costume Party of All Timeâ by KTLA, one of the â69 Sexiest Things to Do Before You Die,â by Playboy TV, and Fox Newsâ Bill OâReilly once said, âI was on the West Coast last weekend ⦠it's probably good I didn't get to this event.â Over three decades of history, âThe Ballâ has regaled over half a million attendees, featured over a thousand live performances, and received over 50 awards and proclamations.
Founder Perry Mann has officially proclaimed that the 2009 Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo â the 30th Anniversary show, or âXXX Anniversaryâ - will be the largest, sexiest, and most talked-about party ever. âItâs our 30th Anniversary â thatâs pretty special,â says Mann. âDid I ever expect to get here? No way. Iâm just thrilled to be alive! This will be the show of all shows, and I am pulling out all the stops like never before.â
Previous Indie bands who won gigs at the Ball included Black Betty and the Bad Habits from Boston, and the Los Angeles-based Doxy and Lady Fox. They performed on the same bill with Snoop Dogg, Peaches, Donald Glaude, the Spyderz, Tone Loc, the Gentitorturers, and others. Black Bettyâs lead vocalist, Jenny Langer, called the experience, âA true highlight for us that weâll always remember. Thatâs one fun and crazy crowd!â
âThe Ball is very visible,â adds Mann. âAnd many bands with sexy lead singers and provocative lyrics feel they fit the show. Many of them do. The problem for us is we receive hundreds of DVD's, CD's, emails, and links. We donât have the time or manpower to sift through them. But, I am a songwriter myself, and I have a real commitment to Indie music. Our relationship with Sonicbids allows us to manage this function and show that commitment. Every submission gets heard, and it all comes to us online. I look forward to shaking hands with the 2009 winners on stage at the Ball.â
âThe Ballâ is widely considered the worldâs #1 adult-themed party event with live headline entertainment on five stages â music, electronic, burlesque, circus, and fetish. Over its 30-year history, headline entertainment has included Joan Jett, Chris Isaak, Grace Jones, Greg Allman, George Clinton, Everclear, plus untold numbers of celebrity guests, pop culture icons, and the worldâs top burlesque, fetish, and novelty acts.
