Wadsworth, Ohio (PressExposure) August 20, 2009 -- The corner of High Street and College is looking more like a younger version of itself these days. Thatâs thanks to the wonderful restoration of the stately brick building by its current owner, Mr. Patrick OâNeill of The OâNeill Group.
The downtown structure, built nearly 100 years ago, has gone through several changes through the years which deviated from its intended architectural style.
Along with Whole Day Café, who also resides in the building, Mr. OâNeill has taken great care and consideration to preserve the structureâs original integrity and character. A new beautiful exterior restoration now tops off the historically accurate interior. The building recently received an exterior face lift which included new windows, window casings and moldings along with a fresh coat of paint. Most noticeably, local contractors removed tired awnings and installed new transom windows to replace the original ones that were covered over by former occupants.
The renovation is also a prime example of how locally owned businesses are a tremendous asset to the economy and to the community. By hiring local businesses to complete the construction and restoration of a piece of Wadsworth history, Mr. OâNeill has made another great investment in the community where he grew up and now operates his business. âI love Wadsworth, the people and the community. As a member of The Downtown Wadsworth, Inc. organization, I feel it is important to lead by example in restoring our building. Along with other local business owners like Bob Thurber, Jack Ollom and Bill Simmons âto name a few- I think we are making a difference in Wadsworth,â said OâNeill.
