Kingston, MA (PressExposure) August 08, 2012 -- Besides bragging rights and perhaps the first round at the 19th hole, there's usually not much riding on one putt for non-competitive golfers. For five lucky contestants of Sullivan Brothers Toyota's recent promotion, one putt earned each a brand new iPod Touch.
The five (Michelle Arnold of Hanson, Charles Howe, Lawrence Walsh, William Dennehy of Hanover and Konrad Wikman of Halifax) were selected from a pool of people who test drove any vehicle on the Sullivan Brothers lot from July 13 to July 28. After the drawing, which took place on July 28, each contestant had the opportunity to sink one, 50-foot putt to win a brand new Toyota Camry.
"They all gave it their proverbial best shot--one came very, very close to sinking his putt--but this is one contest where we wanted everybody who participated to leave a winner," said John Sullivan, who founded the Sullivan Brothers dealerships with brothers Quin and Brian in Kingston in 1986.
In addition to the five putting contestants, a putt for cash contest was held and several more contestants took their shot at cash prizes. Sullivan Brothers gave away an additional $500 to three people ($250, $150 and $100).
Local radio station WPLM broadcast from the event, which was catered by Cedarville House of Pizza. More than 150 people attended and every customer who participated in the promotion received a free Sullivan Brothers T-shirt. Contest was open to legal U.S. residents, over 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
"This was such a fun event, from start to finish," noted Sullivan. "I know we didn't give away the grand prize, but you can honestly say that everybody who took part in this one, including our staff, left a winner."
