Pembroke, Massachusetts (PressExposure) July 13, 2011 -- Who is "creeping" onto your kid's Facebook page? Does your child reveal too much personal information for predators or bullies? How do you keep them safe?
To answer these questions and more, ACTSmart, is offering two straight-forward workshops in their state-of-the-art technology classroom located on Route 139, 100 Schoosett Street, Building 1B, Pembroke, MA.
The first workshop is Facebook Safety for Parents scheduled for Tuesday, August 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for $67. The second Facebook Safety for Teens (Ages 12-17) set Thursday, August 11, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for $67. Scholarships are available for those in financial need.
Facebook Safety for Teens class will outline safety on Facebook for teenagers. Participants will review privacy settings, blocking settings, and also discuss, why you need to be safe on Facebook!
Facebook Safety for Parents will address specific parents safety concerns with Facebook. The workshop will explore why kids are on Facebook, how to monitor their activity, and ways to manage other safety concerns such as, privacy settings, blocking, and why your kids need to be safe on Facebook!
"Facebook is THE central part of many kids' lives," noted Danielle Griffin, director of ACTSmarts' "Smartly Social" division. She added, "Facebooking is an integral part of a teenagers day. Teenagers often start and finish their day with Facebooking. But are staying safe and making good decisions about how they use this fun, but dangerous channel?"
