Farnaz Mobayyen Solo Art Exhibition To Take Place Thursday April 30th At Sapient Gallery In Boston

, MA (PressExposure) April 27, 2009 -- Willett Corporate Communications today announced that highly-regarded Boston artist Farnaz Mobayyen will exhibit a select assortment of her abstract paintings in Boston. Some of her canvases are in oil and some are in acrylic. The show takes place at the Sapient Corporate Headquarters Gallery near Copley Place at 131 Dartmouth Street Thursday April 30th from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Admission is free.

In this show, “Journey”, Ms. Mobayyen exhibits two series of her works that are abstract in style but distinctive in elements. In one series, she uses the Persian alphabet as the main element in her paintings. Their shapes, especially arches and curves, give her the opportunity to explore them and create flow and movement throughout her work. In her second series, circles and arches are the dominant shape in her paintings. The non-edginess of the circle shape has a symbolic meaning to her. Its roundness, its curviness, and the rhythms created by several circles and arches help her bring the spiritual world inside her easier to the canvas.

Artist’s Statement Ms. Mobayyen says, “I have always been passionate about the arts. This deep passion in me manifests itself into love for painting. Painting is like breathing air to me. Without it, I don't feel alive. With paint, I can free my creative energy onto the canvas. When I look at colors, lines and shapes that I create, I see a portrait of my soul. Each active brush stroke shows a corner of the world inside me, the world that is energetic, bold and passionate.

My journey to be creative started with a pencil in my crib! As a child, by allowing me to draw on the walls, my parents encouraged me to enjoy being creative.

As I was growing up, I never stopped drawing and later on I took private drawing lessons when I was in high school. But, it was more as a hobby than anything else until I took painting classes in college. At that time, I realized that I had to take this one step further and give it my full attention. That led me to get my Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and drawing at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

About Willett Corporate Communications

I'm a spontaneous painter and usually care less about planning out my paintings. I believe they are more expressive with less planning. The only thing I plan out is the arrangement of different sizes and numbers of canvases. The way I put them next to each other or on top of each other gives the whole piece movement and sculptural look. I look at the blank canvas for a few minutes and pick up my brush and freely paint shapes and lines. The first shapes and lines give birth to the next ones and the first color I pick calls on to other colors to come to play and that goes on until they have nothing more to say and the piece feels finished."
