February Brings Two Second Empire Grand-Prix Races
The Second Empire Grand-Prix (www.secondempireseries.com) announces two February races as part of its spring series?The Run for the Roses 5K on February 2 and the 2010 Law Enforcement Torch Run 5K on February 20. Both are USATF-sanctioned races and will raise money for North Carolina charities.
The Run for the Roses 5K will benefit the Carolina Canines for Service and be held in downtown Raleigh. Later in the month, The Law Enforcement Torch Run 5K will benefit Special Olympics North Carolina and be held on North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus. The Law Enforcement Torch Run 5K is run in conjunction with the NC State Polar Plunge at Lake Raleigh.
"These races are a great opportunity for running and walking enthusiasts to enjoy their sport," says Kim Reynolds, restaurant owner and founder of the Grand-Prix. "It's remarkable the amount of support the community provides local charities during these races."
