Williamsport, PA (PressExposure) March 16, 2011 -- A broad cross-selection of businesses attended the Five Steps to Success in the Marcellus Shale presentation. The audience ranged from major banks to industrial services companies to small trucking companies. The presentation was given by Joe Barone, President of PA Gas Directory, LLC at the Natural Gas Expo for McKean, Cameron and Potter Counties.
Barone focused on providing businesses with an overall marketing strategy of "High Tech - High Touch" which employs using the latest technology for communicating with gas industry and networking with gas workers as often as possible.
The goal of the presentation was to give businesses a few sales and marketing tips which they could integrate in the everyday businesses. Some of the tips dealt with using text messaging to get the word to customers and prospects. Many of the businesses at the seminar are not currently using text messaging. Other important tips focused on networking. "Networking is hard for anyone," commented Barone. "Most of us are introverts so talking to strangers can be stressful."
Questions from the audience focused on unique ways to connect with gas workers which is a challenge shared by all companies that want to work with the gas companies. The fast pace of the industry keeps everyone moving quickly. Consequently, it's hard to get someone's attention which is the first step in making the sale. Barone left the audience with the last critical steps to success which is relentless follow up.
Barone will be giving the Five Steps to Success in the Marcellus Shale presentation at the Susquehanna County Workforce Development Expo on April 2 in Dimock, PA
