Daytona Beach, Florida (PressExposure) November 10, 2009 -- Daytona Beach The Stayput Shallow Water Spike⢠is a simple and versatile way to stop your boats movement and create a better fishing environment. This new product (patent pending), is the perfect addition to any bass boat, flats boat or shallow water skiff. It was developed for fishermen by fishermen.
The Stayput Shallow Water Spike⢠was invented by Mike Schaler, in Daytona Beach Florida. After years and years of fishing, Mike was frustrated with using a noisy trolling motor to keep his boat positioned, or staking his boat out with a push pole while it drifted all over the place. He was familiar with the Power Poleâ¢, but wasn't willing to pay for it, and worried about maintenance on the hydraulics or additional weight on his boat. That's when Mike came up with an innovative solution at a reasonable price. Mike invented the Stayput Shallow Water Spike⢠to stay still, stay quiet and catch more fish.
Mike has been fishing all his life. He grew up in Long Island, New York, crabbing and fishing for Blues and Striped Bass. He moved to Daytona Beach in 1980 and has been fishing for Red Fish, Snook and Trout ever since. Mike lives in Daytona Beach with his wife Julie and two kids Matthew 19 and Courtney 16. He invented the Stayput Shallow Water Spikeâ¢, to make fishing easier and to catch more fish. Mike has tested the Stayput Shallow Water Spike⢠all over Florida, including the Keys and Everglades; Mosquito Lagoon, Spruce Creek and the Tomoka Basin.
The Stayput Shallow Water Spike⢠is the best way to stay still and stay quiet. No more dealing with the noise, mess and wasted storage space that a traditional anchor requires. Captain Mike Hakala, a Mosquito Lagoon expert, who's been fishing there for over 25 years and been guiding there since 1993 writes, "I am enjoying my Stayput spike. It does everything you said it would. Its quiet, doesn't spook fish, and is quick and easy to use. It works great in the wind, much better than an anchor or staking out with a push pole. Thanks for making a great product." Captain Mike Hakala has been written up in Florida Sportsman and SaltWater Sportsman, has won numerous fishing tournaments including the Mercury Redbone Celebrity Fishing Tournament and is also known for his own "Captain Mike's Proven Lures".
With three models to choose from, Stayput Shallow Water Spike⢠will fit on any boat setup. It's a high quality product that's sold at a great price point; Bracket Systems start as low as $169.99.
