Pasedena, CA (PressExposure) July 21, 2010 -- Filmmakers Daron Fordham and Raymond Forchion have landed three projects that will be screened in this years ACTION ON FILM INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL to be held in Pasedena, California, July 23th through July 30th. The 2010 festival includes well over two hundred motion pictures, short subjects and documentary films during its run this year, along with numerous events and seminars.
Officially selected to screen In Competition is their documentary "FILM HUSTLE." It's the amusing, true story of their nationwide underground marketing campaign for their Warner Brothers/Polychrome release, "CONFESSIONS OF A THUG." The movie is a primer for independent filmmakers on alternatives to the standard distribution techniques and channels in getting their movies seen by the public... and selling units! The movie is a true celebration of the American entrepreneurial spirit and teaches filmmakers and anyone with something to sell that "The deal is just the beginning." Some of those interviewed in the documentary include Actor/Director, and past Action On Film Honoree Bill Duke, along with Oscar Nominated Actress, Sally Kirkland.
"FILM HUSTLE," TRT 78:00 is scheduled to screen on Monday, July 26th at the Academy Theater #3 in the 4:30 PM block of screenings.
Screening the following day, Tuesday, July 27th out of competition in the 4:00 PM Segment, will be the the subject of "Film Hustle," "CONFESSIONS OF A THUG," a Hip-Hop Musical, the first such film to be featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine TRT 105 min.
The third entry in the Fordham/Forchion trilogy will be "HIP-HOP HEADSTRONG," also screening out of competition. This is the 2009 Live Action Short TRT 21:30 that is the inspiration for the upcoming TV Comedy Series of the same name. Its the adventures of 'The World's # 1 Old School Hip-Hop Fan and Ooops... The World's Biggest Loser!' HHH is scheduled to screen Sunday, July 25 in the 2:00 PM block. In addition to Fordham, the film also stars Elia English (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Robert Trebor (Xena:Warrior Princess) Khamani Griffin (Daddy Day Care) and Mimi Michaels (Meteor).
