Morgantown, Pennsylvania (PressExposure) November 17, 2009 -- Four Liberty students have created a new Fitness application for the iPhone and iPod Touch which will be released in December 2009 in the Apple iTunes store. Bryan Dulaney, William Herring, Mark Hammonds, and Brad Blackburn met at Liberty University while each was pursing higher education for their desired careers. Fit Pulse was designed for beginners as well as advanced fitness enthusiasts.
Bryan Dulaney, a certified personal trainer and 2008 Liberty graduate currently enrolled in Liberty's master program online, got the idea while observing others taking notes in the gym to keep track of their fitness progress. Fit Pulse was created to keep track of fitness and nutrition at the touch of a button, and to create a well rounded fitness program that can easily be followed at the gym, home, outside, or while traveling. Fit Pulse keeps history of all workouts as well as favorite workouts members can recall quickly.
William Herring, Mark Hammonds, and Brad Blackburn carried out the development phase of the product. Prior to this, these three Liberty men had already developed applications for the iPhone/iTouch in other categories. This team has incredible talent in many areas of iPhone/iTouch application development and web site design.
Another unique application is the Socialize/Compete function. Users can socialize with friends and other members and see what other applications members are using. Fit Pulse keeps track of workout milestones, which add to the fun of competing with others. Fit Pulse is integrated with Twitter and Facebook so that members can import their friends from these two platforms easily. Members are ranked on Fit Quiz questions and fitness achievements and listed on the leader board.
The main features are:
Dynamic Workouts - Members chooses which body zones to target and the application chooses random workouts based on their fitness goals and location.
Planned Workouts - Members customize their workout based on their fitness goals.
Workout History - Keeps a history of member's workout activity.
Nutrition - Member inputs daily nutrition intake and Fit Pulse keeps nutrition history.
Socialize - Member is automatically connected to other members where they can chat and compete on various levels and import friends from Twitter and Facebook.
Fit Pulse is a great new tool for anyone with an iPhone or iPod touch who want to easily keep track of their fitness program in the gym, at home, or while traveling.
