Auburn Hills, MI (PressExposure) February 20, 2009 -- Chrysler Vans, LLC announced that the 2009 Freightliner Sprinter is the recipient of the Automotive Leasing Guide (ALG) 10th Annual Residual Value Award.
"We are thankful to ALG for highlighting our dedication to designing a quality product," said Mark Heber, Senior Manager, Freightliner Sprinter Marketing and Communications. "This honor proves our vehicles are built to be the most reliable business vehicles."
The Freightliner Sprinter won in the Commercial - Specialty segment, the first vehicle to win in this newly created category. The Freightliner Sprinter is one of only three domestic manufacturers to receive the Residual Value Award this year.
The Residual Value Award honors vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional three-year lease term. The awards are derived after carefully studying segment competition, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand, and pricing strategies are among the key factors that affect ALG's residual value forecasts. The complete list of this year's awards can be found on http://www.alg.com.
"In these unprecedented times - between volatile gas prices and the turmoil in the credit and financial markets - consistently achieving strong Residual Values has become a monumental challenge for auto manufacturers," said John Blair, Chief Executive Officer of Automotive Lease Guide. "Residual Value remains the best metric for evaluating the overall strength of an automotive brand, and we congratulate all of this year's winners for their successful products and marketing strategies."
