Castle Rock, Colorado (PressExposure) October 05, 2009 -- "The first time I heard Elaine Love speak at our Meridian Mid-Day Toast Toastmasters Club, I knew that she was not the typical new member. She answered a question in the Table Topics, impromptu speaking, section of our meeting with tremendous wit and originality. Rarely do new members demonstrate that kind of poise and style.
"After her first prepared speech in our club, everyone - including me - was blown away by her dynamic and powerful talk. She packed more material and more energy into that talk than any other new member I have known. "
"As Elaine moved through the first 10 speeches in her beginning manual, she easily mastered all the basic elements of public speaking in terms of her use of gestures, facial expression, eye contact, and language. Within 4 months of joining, she completed those speeches and entered her first international speech contest."
That's what Joyce Feustel, a very active Toastmaster member since 1997, had to say about Elaine Love...and more. Joyce has earned several Distinguished Toastmasters awards, the highest Toastmasters award.
Therefore, it came as no surprise to this reporter, when Love was asked to compete in a humorous speech contest. What happened next was amazing.
Love was quoted as saying, "I really had no idea how satisfying, gratifying and enjoyable public speaking and competing in speech contests would be. It's fabulous. The benefits I reap from this come to me on so many levels. I highly recommend Toastmasters to anyone who desires to improve their speaking and leadership skills."
Love delivered a delightfully funny speech titled "The Fur Flew" about her beloved and mischievous Scatty Cat. Her most recent competition was the area contest for areas 3 and 4. The contest was held at the Sun Microsystems offices in Broomfield, Colorado on Saturday morning September 26, 2009. Keep watching for the results and the next contest. "This is fun," grinned Love.
In order to compete in an area contest, it is necessary to first win at the club level. Love competed for Double Talk Club which is an advanced club. Keep in mind that Love has only been in Toastmasters for 10 months and has already excelled in the International Speech Contest winning club, area, division and second place in district.
