Montreal, Canada (PressExposure) March 21, 2013 -- Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, is pleased to announce immediate availability of NXP's new I2C temperature sensors, offering unequalled flexibility and pin-for-pin replacement while retaining backward compatibility with the industry standard LM75 device for easy design in.
The PCT2075 is a brand new product offering in the NXP single chip, I2C-bus interface portfolio of temperature sensors. It is highly accurate, boasting a ±1°C precision over a -25°C to +100°C range, which is where most temperature measurements are made. Its resolution enables users to sense minute temperature changes, while outstanding accuracy ensures a solid knowledge of ambient conditions.
These new sensors have a faster I2C-bus speed, up to 1MHz, allowing for quicker response; they also have more I2C addresses, so up to 27 devices can exist on the same I2C-bus segment, and all using only 3 device pins.
Factory programmed default configurations allow users to set up the part without any programming or intervention by a micro, directly from power on. Besides doing away with - or at least simplifying - the control hardware, this is especially useful in applications that monitor the ambient temperature as soon as the equipment is turned on, such as car engine applications.
