GOA Finds a Sure Way of Ending Poverty in Africa

Ogba, Nigeria (PressExposure) September 18, 2009 -- A company located in Lagos, Nigeria, Gbolahan Olaniyi & Associates (GOA), has launched a new campaign to ending poverty in the Country, in a statement released by the Managing Director, Mr Olaniyi Gbolahan, he stated that the new initiative is a social responsibility drive aimed at empowering youths by encouraging and supporting them to acquire skills.

Christened the Nigeria Youth Development Initiative (NYDI), its objectives will be to first and foremost educate and encourage youths to acquire skills that will ensure they can be self employed and financially independent, Youths are then advised to visit the Youth Development Center within the Gbolahan Olaniyi & Associates' (G.O.A) offices, where they will be counseled on the appropriate skills they may need to acquire and then enrolled to commence training.

NYDI will empower Youths with skills in Information Technology, Interior Decoration and sub-contracting, Fashion Design, Hair styling, lifestyle management, Events management, Music and Music production, Film and Video Production and Editing, Printing, Catering etc and will also teach entrepreneurial skills and basic accounting.

Mr Gbolahan also mentioned that NYDI will ensure that fees are kept very low and affordable through partnership with already existing skill acquisition partners spread across the Country made up of skill acquisition centres and entrepreneurs who are very experienced in the chosen fields and are prepared to teach and mentor youths guided by the objectives of NYDI.

Gbolahan Olaniyi & Associates nthrough NYDI is already organising seminars and conferences across the country and hopes to be able to reach and empower as many youths as possible within the shortest possible time and encourages the support of individuals and organisations who may be willing to partner with them in eradicating poverty in Africa not by directly giving youths money but by giving them the skills and capacity to be financially independent - "We will teach them how to fish as against giving them fishes, we are determined to make them employers of labour and help reduce unemployment."

Mr Olaniyi also mentioned that NYDI skill acquisition partners are made up of entrepreneurs who are very experienced in the chosen fields and are prepared to teach and mentor youths guided by the objectives of NYDI.
