"Selecting a piece of jewelry should be a very personal experience that reflects the customer's personality and style," said Garo. "As the designer, I am deeply inspired by the customer, so I have created an intimate showroom that ensures everyone is given the personal attention necessary to select or create a piece that complements their distinct style."
The showroom at 333 First Street in downtown Los Altos is warm and inviting with a comfortable seating area for one-on-one consultation with Garo. "Whether you are looking at jewelry on display or have a vision for a custom piece that is uniquely yours, the showroom is designed to offer you a space to begin the experience," said Garo who is passionately focused on personal attention and customer involvement. "Satisfaction comes from seeing your client's happiness and from developing lifetime relationships and art that can be appreciated and passed on for generations."
A passion for design
Garo learned the trade and artistic skills of the jewelry business from his grandfather who was a respected jeweler in Europe. After school hours were spent learning to set diamonds at his own bench. At the age of 19, Garo traveled to Florence to attend the Perseo school of Jewelry. Within the first year of his studies, Garo was given the opportunity to work with Van Cleef in Beverly Hills. Building a unique cliental, Garo began to design and make exclusive pieces for private clients. At the age of 24 he opened his first showroom in Los Angeles.
Garo then moved his showroom to San Francisco where he subcontracted for upscale retailers such as Nordstrom's. In 2005 he renamed his company Garvani. His latest collection will be introduced in 2011. "Earning my customers trust, making other people happy, creating lasting beauty, those are the hallmarks of my success," says Garo.
