Bend, Oregon (PressExposure) September 06, 2011 -- GL Solutions today announced that they will provide the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) - Office of Health Protection (OHP) an electronic health system.
OHP protects public health by conducting routine inspections of food services, lodging establishments, and campgrounds, complaint investigations and by licensing facilities to assure health and safety standards are met.
Currently OHP uses two separate data systems to track licensing and inspection history for licensed establishments. The licensure system was originally developed in-house in 1998 while the inspection system consists of a combination of manual and electronic processes.
GL Solutions has been contracted to meet the agency's need for a new and more effective license, financial tracking, and inspection system.
Clark Hepper, Office of Health Protection Administrator stated that the "new system will enable the South Dakota Department of Health to offer a more efficient way in doing business with the licensing, inspection and records management for our licensed establishments."
GL SuiteĀ, GL Solutions' expert government software is successfully employed in various regulatory and environmental health areas by over 53 clients in 18 states. For OHP, GL SuiteĀ will be tailored to support licensing, permitting, compliance, inspection, credentialing, registration, continuing education and enforcement processes.
This "all-in-one" web-based database system will provide an integrated electronic licensure management system with real time updates, including on-line licensing and renewals. GL SuiteĀ will also allow OHP an economical transition from a paper based inspection program to an electronic inspection process that is performed in the field.
"Another big benefit," Hepper continued, "is that the new system will allow the general public to access inspectional results for all licensed food, lodging and campground facilities in the state."
By leveraging GL Suite's high configurability and flexibility, GL Solutions will help streamline data management, inspection processes, compliance and fiscal aspects of OHP's licensure program.
