Atlanta, GA (PressExposure) December 17, 2009 -- The countdown to the most influential person for the Olympic Movement in 2010 begins Sunday, Dec. 20 at http://www.aroundtherings.com.
In its 14th edition of Golden 25, Around the Rings ranks the 25 people who will influence the Vancouver Olympics, Youth Olympic Games and World Cup the most in 2010.
âThe Around the Rings Golden 25 tells the story of the year ahead for the Olympic Movement. Those selected are involved with major events and issues for 2010,â ATR editor Ed Hula said.
âThe 2010 Golden 25 includes nine people not included in last yearâs list. Itâs the biggest group of newcomers since the first Golden 25 in 1996.â
Sebastian Coe, chairman of London 2012, topped the list last year. Coe came in at number one as he guided the preparation for the next Summer Olympics, which faced a wintry financial storm in the midst of the recession.
Barack Obama came in second for 2009 as the first U.S. president included in the Golden 25. Obama was expected to provide a spark to the race for the 2016 Olympics and was a major figure for Chicagoâs bid for the 2016 Games.
The number one spot includes a new face to Golden 25 this year. Around the Rings will announce the most influential person for the Olympic Movement in 2010 on Jan. 1, 2010 at http://www.aroundtherings.com.
