Chantilly, Virginia (PressExposure) June 15, 2007 -- Golden Moon Tea today announced the winning of two major global tea competition awards at the prestigious World Tea Expo in Atlanta, Georgia in the companyâs first tea competition.
Golden Moon Teaâs Coconut Pouchong flavored tea won the coveted first place âBest Green Teaâ competition in the Ice Tea Shake Off competition held by the World Tea Expo on June 9, 2007. Coconut Pouchong is a best-selling blend known for its clean, tropical sweetness. In addition Golden Moon Teaâs newly developed and released Pu-erh Chai, a rich earthy blend, tea took runner up award in the âFreestyle Teaâ competition.
Golden Moon received these coveted awards in two of six categories competing against scores of the nationâs leading tea companies.
âWe are very pleased with our performance at the World Tea Expo particularly given the fact that this major event was our first competition for the company. We faced heavy competition from many larger competitors but we are so pleased that the high quality of our tea stood out and captured the judgesâ palates.â said Marcus J. Stout, President and CEO of Golden Moon Tea. âGolden Moonâs blending philosophy utilizes only the finest grades of tea leaves from gardens around the globe for the bases of its unique recipes â
âMost tea companies use inferior grades of tea hidden by strong flavoring. Because Golden Moon uses ultra-premium quality tea bases, they are able to bring forth the flavor of the tea leaves themselves, then complement with more subtle flavors and essences.â Stout continued.
