HPG's Carolyn Strickland Honored with Women in Business Award Recognized for Longtime Service to Company
Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (www.hpg.com), the largest CPA firm headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, announces today that Carolyn Strickland, office manager and director of client services, has been named a 2009 Women in Business Award winner by the Triangle Business Journal. The award recognizes Strickland for her 14 years of tireless dedication to HPG and her involvement in the community.
The prestigious Women in Business Awards program honors 26 of the Triangle's most successful professional women. "I'm honored to be recognized alongside some of the area's most influential and respected businesswomen," says Strickland.
As office manager and director of client services for HPG, Strickland oversees office and accounts receivable operations. Additionally, in 2008, she began serving as the administrative team leader, guiding eight co-workers in increasing office efficiency and effectiveness.
"Carolyn's low-profile demeanor cannot mask the fact that she brings intense passion and focus to her work each day," says Kent Pittman, founding partner and executive committee member at HPG. "Some people approach their employment as a set of duties to be fulfilled. Others approach it as a business they own and for which they are personally responsible. Carolyn most definitely has an ownership and responsibility mindset."
On Thursday, August, 6, 2009, Strickland and other winners were recognized during the 12th annual Women in Business Awards luncheon at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, North Carolina. Profiles of each of the 2009 honorees will be featured in a special Women in Business section of the Triangle Business Journal on August 28, 2009.
