The prize, according to CEO Rhea Perry, is $10,000. Second place is $1,000. Third place is a Kindle.
Destin, Florida -Educating for Success, an online entrepreneurial education organization, has extended the deadline for entering its Home Business Contest that encourages entrepreneurs to create business plans to start new businesses, to midnight, March 20. The prize, according to CEO Rhea Perry, is $10,000. Second place is $1,000. Third place is a Kindle.
The Blueprint for Success Contest is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old and who becomes a member of the online community, Educating for Success. The community is a group of entrepreneurs from all over the world who are learning to use the Internet to build and expand small businesses. The original deadline for the contest was March 13.
"In tough economic times, people quit dreaming about what they really want to do," says Perry, originator of the contest. "We wanted to encourage them to not only think about possibilities for making their situations better but also to come up with a plan. The country needs encouragement right now and what could be more encouraging than to win some money to start a new business"?
Contestants have only a three rules to qualify.
1. Be a member of Educating for Success. Contestants must be 18 years of age.
2. Create a business plan, write an essay and create a video presentation.
3. Submit all three for voting.
A panel of judges will select finalists which will then be announced to the general membership. Members will then vote on the video presentations of the finalists and select a winner. Prizes will be awarded to the winners at a Home Business Conference hosted by Educating for Success in Destin, Florida on April 17, 2011.
