London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) February 15, 2009 -- Businesses produce 40% of the UK's carbon emissions. Small and medium-sized organisations spend about £6bn/year on energy , of which £1bn is just wasted and this produces 12m tonnes of carbon/year. In the meantime, how will you help to save the planet?
Areej THONNATTE, the new Managing Director of HostedJob Ltd:
"Developing environmental policies makes economic sense and we are working on a variety of energy-saving solutions. We will be taking actions to minimise our ecological impact. Of course, this will not have a significant or direct influence on the global warming but we will be pleased and satisfied to bring in our support and contribution.
Why running the Business in an eco-friendly manner?
Areej: "Business is coming under pressure to improve its environmental performance. This means we have to continually strive to reduce the amount of energy we use for any given task. For example: only create, store and send PDF documents can be an easy actions that will cut waste of energy and reduce our own carbon footprint. There is an additional option: the Paper Free Zone. This means for example: replace Post-It notes with an organised reminder system, back up all data on USB sticks for an easy swap and where, at least and from the beginning , you have to recycle the paper you have to use".
Employers of the future should include employee's participation and collaboration, is this the key?
Areej: "The solution for me is to get involve; this not only means improvement but education and from now, all our out-going e-mails to Clients and Candidates will contain this message: "limiting paper waste is good but limiting initial use is better".
