How to Protect Your Loved Ones from Violent Crime

Boise, Idaho (PressExposure) April 01, 2009 -- A slumping economy is causing some desperate situations. Coupled with drug use, greed, and desperation criminals seek an easy buck by breaking into homes and in some cases will break into homes that are occupied. I once thought violent crime only happened in big cities. Unfortunately most reports are misleading as they will report that crime is down from this week to that week. But if you look at a graph of only violent crime over the course of several years the trend proves that violence is becoming more common.

Violent crimes have steadily increased over the years. According to the FBI crimes like murder, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault have increased from 10 years ago in 1999. What is causing the rise and how can you prevent you and your loved ones from violent crime?

No single factor can be blamed for the increase. Population increases as well as a poor economy are just some factors. But as we know spreading fear doesn't help. What you can do to prevent violent crimes against yourself and family is arm yourself. Arming yourself with a gun is one of many options but consider the repercussions using a gun. They are expensive and require lot's of training. Guns do not have a brain or a heart, so even a little slip of a finger it goes bang and someone's dead. Tragic accidents happen all the time with guns and the consequences are often deadly.

The best way to arm yourself is to carry a pepper spray at all times. I also recommend training at a local martial arts place to get some tips on unarmed combat. The worst thing you can do is forget this article and do nothing. Can you afford more hospital bills? Can you afford being robbed, assaulted, or raped at this point? If not, then arm yourself now!
