The Yuva Cricket Committee hosted a cricket tournament on 21st Feb at Morgate ground near Dana Pani Road in Bhopal. It was a 10 - over match.
There was a toss between the captains of the Yuva Cricket Committee, Pramod and Hunka 11 team, Akshay. Pramod won the toss and elected to bat first. The pitch was hard, good for batting.
The team line-up for Hunka 11 was Captain Akshay Hunka followed by Vice captain and wicket keeper Sumit Bijlani, Deepak Sahu, Rajesh Kumar Patel, Rishabh Jain, Vipendra Gupta, Saurabh Jain, Sanjay Batham, Satish Rajput ,Vineet Shrivastava, Upendra Tiwari and 12th man Satish Malviya.
Akshay took the first over. On the very first ball of the first over, he took a wicket. Till the 4th over the opponent team had chased 30 runs in 3 wickets. The 5th over was taken by Rajesh Kumar Patel and the opponent team made 15 runs. There was a great pressure on Hunka 11 at this time. The 6th over changed the game when Sanjay Batham took 3 wickets in 4 balls of his first over and tried to make the pressure on the batting team. Sanjay Batham was given the 8th over and he took 2 more wickets. In the 9th over the Yuva committee team got all out at 72 runs.
The Hunka 11 team started batting with their opening batsman - Upendra and Sumit. The first 3 overs were power play and taking advantage of this and Sumit scored 23 runs in 2 overs. In the 5th ball of the 2nd over he got out.
After 4 overs, the score for Hunka 11 was 28 for 6 wickets. At this moment, it was a tough time for Hunka 11. Batsman Akshay Hunka and Rajesh Kumar Patel were next on the crease and they tried to repair the earlier loss of the team. But in the 8th over Rajesh Kumar Patel and Akshay Hunka both were out and the pressure on the team further increased.
Rishabh and Saurabh came on the crease. In last over, Hunka 11 required 7 runs in 6 balls to win the game. Saurabh was on strike and took a double. Now, the team needed 5 runs in 5 balls. After that he took a single and the team required 4 runs in 4 balls to win the game. There was a stylish win by Hunka 11 by hitting a boundary on the mid-wicket area by Rishabh on the 3rd bowl of the last over.
Sanjay Batham won the man of the match trophy, which was presented by Mr. Mahesh Singh Thakur, BJP Yuva Neta.
