IPR License 'Agents Pick' November Winner Announced

Greater London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) November 27, 2013 -- IPR License, the global and digital marketplace for books rights, has announced that Geraldine Solon has won the November 'Agents Pick' for her contemporary/romantic novel Love Letters.

Five pieces of work were shortlisted in total; The Herbal Detective by Charlie Laidlaw, Dyslexia Dismantled by Laughton King, No Time Like The Present by Christian Jones, The Only Blue Door by Joan Fallon and Love Letters by Geraldine Solon.

The aim of the monthly competition is to help showcase authors work to publishers as well as agents and highlight their rights licensing potential. The winner's work will be featured on a special promotion to over 50,000 publishers and agents in over 90 countries and receive a professional written critique.

Tom Chalmers, Managing Director at IPR License, commented: "The IPR License 'Agents Pick' is really growing in prominence every month with many leading industry figures taking a keen interest in the results. This has been illustrated by recent runner up Mary Wood who cited the competition as 'opening up a host of opportunities which ultimately resulted in the announcement of a fantastic seven book deal with Pan MacMillan'. It's always great to see IPR members receiving the recognition they deserve and we hope that many of those shortlisted as well as the winners can follow in her footsteps and receive the dream publishing deal of their own."

Commenting on the winners book, David Haviland, agent at The Andrew Lownie Literary Agency, said: "Love Letters is classic frothy chick lit, with an appealing setting, sunny tone, and a likeable central character."

Geraldine Solon, author of Love Letters, added: "I was ecstatic to hear that Love Letters won the Agents Pick Competition. I'm so glad I partnered with IPR License. This made my day."
