Information on Different Types and Styles of Suspended Ceiling and Office Partitioning Systems

London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) April 09, 2010 -- We offer installation of many different styles of Suspended Ceiling; including lay-in Grid, MF Plasterboard Ceilings and Metal Ceilings. We use key brands such as Armstrong, USG, Donne, Owa, Ecophon, Rockfon, SAS, British Gypsum, Knauf and Burgess. These systems can incorporate insulation for thermal or acoustic reasons. Below are some examples of; the most widely used systems, what we can offer, and in what situation they would be used.

Lay-In Grid Suspended Ceilings Lay-in are constructed from different components to form a modular grid at either 600mm x 600mm or 1200mm x 600mm as standard. These are ideal for concealing pipe or ductwork, electrical services or unsightly soffits, and can incorporate many styles of luminaire. Lay In suspended ceiling tiles with high light reflectance properties will help light an area, whilst lowering the ceiling height effectivley reduces the area that needs heating or cooling. We have highly skilled fitters who are experienced in installing all of the following types of ceilings, and any techniques that are needed in order for a ceiling to reach its requirements.

When choosing the correct system and tiles for a situation a number of different issues need consideration. Does the ceiling need to:

  • Offer Fire Protection
  • Offer Acoustic Properties
  • Be Suitable For A Humid Environment
  • Offer Hygenic Properties
  • Have a specific edge detail

MF Plasterboard Ceilings These are non load bearing ceilings that are constructed from a metal framed system, to which plasterboard is then fixed, and which are usually taped and filled, or skimmed, to give a monolithic appearance. The finished surface can then be painted, vinyled, or wall papered.

Below are some of the properties of the MF ceiling system:

  • MF offers very high acoustic properties.
  • MF also has high fire resistance properties.
  • If access to the plenum will be required, access hatches can be incororated into MF.

Office Partitioning Systems Office partitioning can create new offices or work areas from an existing work space. These systems can offer a simple way to divide space, all the way to high performance walls designed to meet strict fire or sound ratings. We offer many different styles of partitioning, please read below to find some further details on each.

Metal Track and Stud System

  • This system can incorporate both door and glazing modules.
  • This system can give a fire rating of up to 120 minutes in some circumstances.
  • It can be installed in a straight line or to a curve to make the most of the space available.
  • This system is very adaptable and can be finished in a variety ways,
