Lincoln City, OR (PressExposure) April 10, 2011 -- The Inn at Wecoma, located at 2945 NW Hwy 101 in Lincoln City has recently completed a comprehensive renovation. Stephen Davis, the hotel's General Manager, explained, "The Inn at Wecoma, formerly The Farmer's Daughter, recently went through an ownership change and the new ownership group immediately began an extensive renovation of the entire property."
"During the entire rebranding and renovation process, we really focused on the history of this area. The new name of the hotel, 'Wecoma' was the original name of the first small town located here, until its annexation into Oceanlake in 1955, and then incorporated into Lincoln City in 1965. The name Wecoma is a native American term for 'big wave', which is represented by the wave design in our logo."
By the end of May, 2010, the exterior renovation was completed, which included a new exposed cedar entrance canopy, new signage, accent lighting, planter benches and paint. The interior renovation and remodel followed, in which the 62 guest rooms and the lobby area were completely refurbished, including assembling over 120 beach style Adirondack chairs, new artwork, flat screen TVs and all new bedding.
During 1st Quarter 2011, the hotel added a new Grab N Go' lobby gift shop. Contemporary shelving was installed in the lobby to showcase local art and historical photographs, courtesy of the North Lincoln Historical Society. The ambiance is that of a serene blending of the modern and historical. Stephven Davis commented, "there are additional improvements to the hotel planned for 2011, including addition of an extended-stay 1-bedroom suite, guest laundry area, and other enhancements to the hotel."
