Hattiesburg, MS (PressExposure) July 01, 2010 -- The Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness (IMEP) today announced today that it has partnered with Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) to provide the MSC Moderate Sedation Course and IMEP Sedation Emergency Algorithms to help better prepare healthcare providers caring for patients undergoing procedures using moderate sedation: the Moderate Sedation Plus Airway Emergency and Sedation Algorithms Course.
IMEP and MSC will offer this course as an online sedation emergency preparedness training program that is designed to prepare healthcare professionals and their office teams to respond calmly, efficiently and effectively to a sedation or airway emergency. This program will be unique in that it will cover moderate sedation plus emergencies that can occur such as airway emergencies and sedation emergencies through a multi-media interactive simulation program that will be on MSC website. A training certificate will be issued for those that complete the course. "MSC is pleased to partner with the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness to ensure that healthcare providers in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings are prepared to prevent and address potential complications associated with moderate sedation," says Ellen Mouton, MSC Business Development Director.
"Our partnership with Medical Simulation Corporation will elevate professional standards for any healthcare provider participating in our courses to improve patient safety, patient rescue and continued duediligence in the area of medical and sedation emergency preparedness," said John Roberson, D.M.D., the Chief Executive Officer of IMEP. He added, "By partnering with IMEP, Medical Simulation Corporation is demonstrating their commitment to improving and preparing all healthcare providers for the inevitable medical, sedation or airway emergency. Chris Rothman, D.D.S., IMEP's Chief Operating Officer, "This is a perfect example of what can be achieved when two companies of this caliber come together for the greater good of all healthcare providers. The person that benefits the most is the patient they treat. We applaud MSC for taking this significant stance on sedation emergency preparedness."
