Milton Keynes, United Kingdom (PressExposure) December 16, 2009 -- Daeja Image Systems has introduced The Email Viewing Module, the latest in its series of functionally rich modules for use with their market leading ViewONE Pro web-based document and image viewer. Available to download or purchase online, the new module enables users to view Outlook MSG (in HTML and Plain Text formats) and EML messages on a single page without the need for an email client on their machine. The module also gives users the facility to view embedded images and attachments without needing to open another viewing program or saving to disk first.
Daejaâs Email Viewing Module allows viewing of email text in its original format and layout, while most competing approaches are only able to display simple text. Intuitive attachment viewing is initiated by clicking on an âattachmentâ icon, which then opens a tree in the thumbs index view of the document, listing all available attachments for viewing with each document. Simple visual icons make it clear to the user which document type the attachment is, e.g. PDF, Word document or other image or document type. Deeper viewing is also possible allowing users to view attachments embedded within attachments if required.
The design of ViewONE Pro and the way that available modules are layered on top, means that every viewable file type automatically benefits from the capabilities given by all modules for which a license has been purchased. For example, if the ViewONE Pro Annotations Module is purchased, users are able to annotate the content of the main message body and attachments such as PDFs, emails and image files. Similarly, if the user has purchased a license for Daejaâs Print Accelerator Module, then they will also be able to carry out high-speed printing of emails, compressed to fit on a single A4 page.
Daeja Image Systemsâ new Email Viewing Module has two customisation features designed to enhance security and control. The first controls the enabling / disabling of the ability to save email attachments locally. Set by default to allow saving to take place, this can be changed through a HTML parameter on the viewer. The second feature, which can be turned on or off without the need to reload the viewer, allows external images in emails to be disabled. This means that images on remote, potentially untrusted servers can be shown or hidden as would be the case with a normal email client. This feature, set to âoffâ by default, helps to protect online privacy.
âOur new Email Viewing Module represents another valuable enhancement to the ViewONE Pro document and image viewer product portfolioâ, said Stuart Moss, CEO, Daeja Image Systems. He continued: âThe ability to view annotated and redacted emails and many types of attachments, will prove to be beneficial to our customers who already see our products as market-leading and innovative in empowering new efficient ways of workingâ.
