Davis , CA (PressExposure) September 14, 2013 -- Travel the world in just six hours without leaving Davis by coming to the International Festival.

This third annual event takes place Saturday, Oct. 12, noon to 6 p.m. at the Veterans' Memorial Center in Davis. The festival is free and a huge variety of events take place from singing and dancing on the main stage to arts and crafts sales, from international food sales to games for children.

For over 30 years, International House Davis has promoted respect and appreciation for people of all ages, cultures, and ethnicities by providing activities and opportunities for cross-cultural interaction. International House Davis counters the recent hate crimes occurring in our communities with this celebration of unity in diversity. Although this is the third year for the International Festival, International House Davis has been doing cultural celebrations for different countries for many years.

"International House Davis is committed to educating the community, welcoming international visitors, and celebrating our differences," said Elisabeth Sherwin, executive director. "Last year several thousand people joined us in celebrating 'unity in diversity' at our International Festival."

Talent will include Galena Street East Productions, Dixon Scots, and the Aztec Dance Group plus myriad musicians and guests. We are also proud to present Humanitarian Teretai Trent as our guest speaker.
