Oulu, Suomi (PressExposure) April 22, 2013 -- Fans of John Fogerty, the former leader of swamp rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, have recently started a Facebook campaign to get Fogerty's single from his new record, Wrote A Song For Everyone, to the top of the charts. Alessio 'Micio Nero' Quirino, a long time fan from Oulu, Finland, started the grassroots online campaign as a way to honor John Fogerty, who is celebrating the 40th year of his solo career this year, and his music. A Rock and Roll- and Songwriters Hall Of Fame inductee, and writer of many classics like Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Green River, Bad Moon Rising and Centerfield, Fogerty has never had a #1 hit single in the United States. His former band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, who at the higest point of their populairty was the top selling band in the world, famously holds the record for the most #2 hits without ever reaching #1, with 5 songs reaching the #2 spot between 1969 and 1970. From John's dazzling new composition "Mystic Highway" to the powerful new version of his soulful "Long As I Can See the Light", to the boisterous renditions of "Fortunate Son" and - yes - "Lodi", and to the down home good time feel of "Almost Saturday Night", this album seems to have something for everyone... just like it says in the album title! The campaign's facebook page can be found at facebook.com/JohnFogertyTo1
