Mumbai, Maharashtra India (PressExposure) September 07, 2011 -- Mumbai, In today's globalized world, it is the responsibility of our leaders to ensure and encourage more international exposure amongst the youth, as this is what will become the differentiating factor for the coming generation. This was the sentiment behind a felicitation meet held to honour the participants of the International Youth Cultural Festival, concluded recently in Italy. The Mayor of Mumbai, Smt Shradha Jhadhav graced the occasion and handed over the honours for the initiative taken to nurture and enrich young minds from the cable and satellite industry in India.
Handing over the honours, Smt.Shraddha Jadhav said, "I appreciate Prime Connect for its effort and assistance towards motivating the partners through a new approach involving the younger generation. I believe this new perspective and continued effort will be a source of inspiration for the rest of the industry, and would also inspire and empower a new generation of youth to act for a meaningful social change."
Talking about the youth initiative, Mr. Yogesh Radhakrishnan, MD and CEO, MNDIL, said, "The Cultural Exchange program is aimed at providing a platform to the brightest young minds in the industry to showcase their talent in the international arena. The initiative will also help in forging and reinforcing cultural ties of India with the rest of the world".
The youth festival was a joint effort by Prime Connect, an independent television distribution platform and Ferriswheel, an event management firm based out of Mumbai, and specialising in such exchange programs.
Ferriswheel was the authorized body to take a delegation of students from India to Italy this year. As one of its activities, Ferriswheel represents India at International children and youth folk dance, music and drama festivals across the world. Hundreds of youth and children have participated and benefited from these programs over years.
This year's exchange program was organized in conjunction with Ferriswheel and Prime Connect. The 17 member group consisting of students, represented India in the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL in Italy, alongside 4 other participating - Russia, Romania, Algeria, Italy and India. The group presented a Folk dance performance and participated in various fun activities like local games of the participating countries, mural painting, poster competition, trekking, hiking and much more. The Indian talent, in general was very much liked and appreciated.
