Manchester, United Kingdom (PressExposure) July 12, 2013 -- Children's day nursery group kidsunlimited has been shortlisted in a whopping four categories at the prestigious Nursery World Awards 2013.
Demonstrating excellence on a daily basis at work is one thing, but being recognised for that valuable and positive contribution at a prestigious awards ceremony is something else entirely. This is exactly what has happened to children's nursery group kidsunlimited, which has made the shortlist in no less than four subcategories at this year's Nursery World Awards.
2013 will be the fifth year of the awards ceremony which has become a top accolade of achievement for those working in the early year's education and childcare sector. The aim of the awards is to "recognise and highlight the best that is being achieved throughout the UK early years sector" in a variety of categories on an organisational, team, individual and initiative level.
kidsunlimited nursery group has been shortlisted for three awards in the Individuals subcategory and one award in the Initiatives subcategory. Up against seven other nurseries for the Enabling Environments Award is kidsunlimited Maidstone, which opened in March 2012. This particular branch of the nursery group worked hard to design a safe and secure environment in which children would be stimulated and challenged constantly. With the likes of child friendly plants, beaches and observation towers, and an indoor craft area, children are encouraged to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments.
Mim Brown is up for Early Years Regional Manager of the Year thanks to her impressive work supporting 32 kidsunlimited nurseries in the North of England and greatly improving Ofsted reports in the five years she has been in the role.
The Principal Early Years Adviser for kidsunlimited nurseries, Anne Yeomans, has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution award, and has a particular passion for children's literacy development.
Finally, Rachel Finan, Deputy Manager at kidsunlimited Tadpoles Nursery has focused her efforts on designing and implementing new policies and procedures to help nursery children make transitions both in nursery and when they leave to attend school. She has been shortlisted for the Early Years Professional of the Year award.
Jeremy Clark, Development Director at kidsunlimited, said: "Here at kidsunlimited we feel immensely proud of our amazing staff members who continue to inspire and educate children at each of our nursery locations. Everyone up for an award at the Nursery World Awards should feel like a winner."
The Nursery World Awards 2013 will take place on 28 September this year.
