Newbury, United Kingdom (PressExposure) March 12, 2009 -- At age 22 write Lucy Wallace has decided it's time to stop knitting Doctor Who scarves and start putting her enthusiasm for knitting to proper use. By merging the world of knitting and blogging Lucy's main aim is to document the learning process as she masters new stitches and attempts to write her own patterns. The blog, named Crafty Bloggers, is focused on baby clothes although her love of crafts spans through handmade beauty products, painting, jewellery and sewing, too.
The inspiration for the blog came entirely from her Mother who taught her to knit at age 8 and her Grandmother who still knits patchwork blankets for charity despite losing her sight 19 years ago.
"My Mum would occasionally pull out old garments that she'd knitted when my brothers and I were babies" says Lucy, "I thought it was wonderful that anyone could make such beautiful and unique baby clothes. I decided there and then that I wanted in on it."
Lucy is also a freelance writer, working for two online Press Release agencies and several web masters internationally. As a result of having worked for blogs and fashion websites Lucy has a deep interest in the blogosphere and how it works.
"Craft tutorials are a huge hit in the world of blogging" she commented, "but sometimes beginners feel a bit overwhelmed. With me being a novice I can learn alongside my readers and we can help each other out - I will simply document the progress".
Research and preparation for the Crafty Bloggers blog has been going on for two months now. Lucy has obtained two wicker baskets full of wool, 6 sets of needles, crochet hooks and several books to help. The preparation hasn't only been material either - Lucy is also present on Hubpages.com (username 'Lucy Wallace') and on the web's latest phenomenon, Twitter (@LucyAnnabel).
