Los Angles, CA (PressExposure) October 22, 2007 -- Special dEaD, the world's goriest, most politically incorrect empowerment film challenges stereotypes while begging the question: "Ever Ride a Zombie Horse?"
Directed by Thomas L. Phillips and Sean Simmons, and written by Jared Tweedie, Special dEaD is a Horror Comedy set high in the zombie-infested hills of Corona, California.
When a zombie plague infects Camp Special Dude, a dude ranch for the mentally handicapped, a ragtag band of campers and counselors struggles to survive the night. Led by the indifferent, nunchuck-wielding head counselor, Mac, and his wheelchair-bound sister Dale, the unlikely heroes fight their way off the mountain as, one by one, they're picked off and join the ranks of the walking dead. It's is a campy stampede of boobs, blood, and gore.
The DVD will feature never-before-seen footage, including: Riding The Short Bus (a making of montage), a behind the scenes slide show, a feature-length cast and crew commentary, the original trailer and a hidden campy sing-a-long special surprise. Sean Simmons, Co-Director of Special dEaD says, "The people with special needs are the heroes of our movie. It's about people rising to the occasion and doing the right thing when all hell breaks loose. There are many original gory scenes in the film. Our special FX is impressive."
Thomas L. Phillips adds, "After having a great run in the film festivals, and nearly a million unique visitors on our website, from all over the world, we knew it was time to release the movie."
