Dubai, India (PressExposure) March 07, 2012 -- TRADE VISITORS FLOCK TO PAPERWORLD ME AND PLAYWORLD ME AS EXHIBITORS TARGET REGIONAL EXPANSION WITH PRODUCT LAUNCHES
Leading regional suppliers of toys and children's lifestyle products were awarded for their out-standing contributions at the Playworld Toy Awards, held on the sidelines of the ongoing trade fair, Playworld Middle East. The Best Supplier competition was held in co-operation with Gulf Greetings and exhibition organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt and was supported by the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA).
All entries were vetted for compliance with the G-Mark Standards to ensure that they are made of child-safe material. The competition was held in the five following categories: Best Overall Supplier 2011, Best Supplier Boy's Toys 2011; Best Supplier Girl's Toys 2011; Best Supplier Generic and Outdoor Products and Best Supplier Baby and Pre-school Products. Judges were drawn from Epoc Messe Frankfurt, Gulf Greetings, ESMA, MBC Corporation and Cartoon Net-work.
Simba Middle East was adjudged Best Overall Supplier 2011, while New Boy was declared best in the boy's category and Atiq Liusie General Trading LLC emerged top in the girl's category. Light Blue Toys was awarded the best in the Generic and Outdoor category while the Best Pre-school and Baby Supplier, was announced as Toy Triangle Co.
The first two days of Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East have already attracted a large number of trade visitors with exhibitors reporting considerable interest and inquiries from the regional market. A range of product launches at both events are raising strong interest, as exhibitors seek to reach markets across the wider region.
Key Paperworld Middle East exhibitor Double A, has launched an expanded product line of paper and stationery ranges into the region, through Paperworld Middle East while also targeting North Africa and South Asia. Senior Executive Vice President, Thirawit Leetavorn, said: "By joining Paperworld Middle East we are endorsing our commitment for growth in the region. Paperworld is an instrumental platform to discover new opportunities and grow with our current partners. We are confident that we will be forging newer ties to expand our footprint and provide quality Double A paper to a wider audience."
Stationery major Pelikan was exhibiting through their distributor in the UAE, Arabian Oasis. S.S.K. Krishnan, Business Development Manager, Stationery Division of Arabian Oasis, said. "The partnership was announced at last year's Paperworld Middle East. This is the first time Arabian Oasis are participating. We take this as opportunity to showcase our range of products and also meet other companies for acquiring products for distribution."
Nasser Al Atrash, Vice President, Head of Business Operations MENA, Pelikan said: "We saw many visitors from GCC, Levant, Africa and even CIS countries. The response is fantastic. We are showcasing our new range of stationery and have introduced a new concept ink pen + highlighter. We also have a couple of Ergonomic products. All our products are child-safe and our text maker is a Red Dot award winner."
Meanwhile at Playworld Middle East Palestine-based Sarmadee is attracting considerable attention from trade visitors with their unique range of educational toys under the 'Little Muslim' title. Partner, Fuad Muzzafar, said: "We have got great results from Playworld Middle East so far, with a lot of people showing interest in our product range. We are getting quite a few inquiries from interested traders."
Also upbeat about their participation at Playworld Middle East is Aman Solanji, Middle East-based Buyer for Playwell. "We had participated last year also. This year it is better. We are showcasing first time products like the 2012 '007' car which will only be released with the movie in October. We had visitors and dealers showing interest in our products and also people offering their products for us to distribute, so it's a two-way business. Yesterday we received many queries at our stand and saw visitors from all over the world. "
Paperworld Middle East, represents the world of office and stationery and features a wide range of international paper products and office supplies from around the world. Playworld Middle East is the foremost trade event for toys, games and children's lifestyle in the region. The last day for both trade fairs currently taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre is today (Thursday, 8th March).
