Playa Del Carmen, Mexico (PressExposure) October 19, 2010 -- When choosing to live in Mexico, Americans and Canadians are choosing to have contact with a deep-rooted tradition of culture and history belonging to this country; they are also choosing to have a taste of modern world culture as each year Mexico continues to increase its international cultural exchange, both lending many of its traditions to places beyond its borders, and also welcoming a good deal of culture from other countries.
Those who choose to buy Playa del Carmen real estate see a very exciting combination of both of these cultural aspects. For November, 2010, there are a series of events coming up which visitors and residents alike will enjoy, including:
Celebration of Life and Death - Xcaret Eco Park - This celebration is this eco park's special take on Mexico's very deep-rooted "Day of the Dead" holiday. It is celebrated on the two days following Halloween, but has a different focus, dedicated to remembering friends and family who have passed away.
Xcaret includes a reconstruction of a traditional Mexican cemetery, the altars which are built for the deceased, and many spectacles of dancing, music and artwork. Since traditions vary throughout the country, Xcaret focuses on the local Mayan traditions, and each year invites a guest state to present their own traditions as well. The park's celebrations take place from Oct. 30 - Nov. 2.
Riviera Maya Jazz Festival - Mamitas Beach, Downtown - This festival brings jazz musicians from various parts of the world together to perform directly on the beachfront for several evenings during late November. By this time, the temperatures have cooled to about 65 degrees (these are Playa del Carmen's "cold winter days"), and residents and visitors alike enjoy a refreshing ocean breeze.
Taste of Playa - "Fundadores" Park, Downtown - For this event, chefs working in the area representing various restaurants and hotels are taking one complete day to present guests with international dishes, as well as chefs' personal creations. Uniquely prepared drinks will also be available. Tickets are for sale on line, or on site, and the event is open to the public. It will take place on Nov. 21.
Various Film Festivals - During this same season, several annual film festivals have also been taking root in the area both for larger international productions, and more local and artistic film types.
If you enjoy culture in variety of styles, from a variety of places, you will enjoy living in Playa del Carmen. While November is certainly one of the most exciting months in the area, other seasons of the year hold other types of events, and there is always something interesting to be involved in.
