Forest Lake, Australia (PressExposure) February 14, 2015 -- Brian Parkin retired from his senior policy officer position in Queensland Health several years ago. He took up photography and wrote several eBooks for Photography Talk, a web site based in California. He decided that rather than being paid to write books on photography for someone else, he would write a book and self-publish on Amazon Kindle Books. Within a few months, his studio lighting for portraits book "Lighting Diagrams" rocketed to number one as a best seller in the category of Kindle Short Reads/ Arts and Photography. Today, it is #1 best seller in the category of Kindle eBooks > Arts & Photography > Photography > Lighting. It also #2 in Kindle eBooks > Arts & Photography > Photography > Portraits, and #2 in Kindle Short Reads > 45 minutes (22-32 pages) > Arts & Photography.
Since then, Brian has published two more photography books on Amazon. "The Lake at Forest Lake" depicts images of mainly birdlife that he has captured on his digital SLR camera, over several years spent walking around the lake. His other book "Simply Exposure: A Light Bulb Moment" explains how to achieve perfect exposure every time, and is mainly for new users of digital SLR cameras.
Brian has also written three thriller novels: "Deadly Inheritance"; Manifesto for a Serial Killer", and "The Cheng Sung Connection", all of which he has published on Amazon.
Based on his own experiences, he has written a short eBook on "Stop Smoking: Be Healthier, Wealthier & Wiser" He felt that people who wish to learn how to quit smoking, as Brian did after nearly forty years of smoking, would benefit from this eBook. Similarly, Brian has been a stutterer all of his life but still manages to give presentations at conferences without much evidence of his speech impediment. His eBook "Stuttering at its Worst" details his early years at school and in his long career in the Royal Air Force, and how he overcome this terrible affliction.
