Long Beach Island Plans A Green Weekend and a Wedding Road Show

High Bridge, NJ (PressExposure) February 20, 2009 -- Long Beach Island is known as a family friendly Jersey shore destination. It’s a favorite location of many, with a great environment for your summer vacations. Long Beach Island, also commonly referred to as LBI is active year round. Many people aren’t aware that there are activities for everyone prior to the beach season.

There are two new big events coming up in April. If you’re planning a beach area wedding, then you’ll want to know about the “Wedding Road Show” on Long Beach Island, which is a self-guided wedding planning event that takes place on April 19th. “This is a free event that offers a look at wedding venues, services and more” Schwabe says. “You absolutely have to check out the Long Beach Island Wedding site at WeddingsOnLBI.com, which is hosted by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce.”

Another event which is perfect for families is the first annual “Green Up Clean Up” day, which was put together by the LBI Business Alliance. They’ll be teaming up with the Alliance for a Living Ocean, and will be cleaning up the beaches for Earth Day. Saturday, April 25th has been set aside for this annual event. “Green Up, Clean Up” consists of a full day of activities. Not only will 3 hours be put aside for cleaning up the beaches, but this family event also offers a BBQ in the afternoon and a bonfire in the evening. It’s a great way to spend the day together as a family, while doing something productive on Earth Day. You’ll find more details at NJLBI.com.

“Long Beach Island has always been about families. People come to Long Beach Island to enjoy the beautiful beaches, and the family environment. It has a non-commercialized feel, due to the lack of franchises and boardwalk. It’s a very nice community, where families spend quality time together”, Schwabe says.
