Macleem Sports Wear Beats the Big Football Game Ad Hype

Los Angeles, CA (PressExposure) February 14, 2012 -- Hundreds of companies recently spent untold millions of dollars in the annual advertising frenzy surrounding the NFL championship. One company didn't have to spend one dollar to get the word out about their apparel, because more and more celebrities are wearing clothing from this up-and-coming athletic wear company. Word of mouth among high profile fans is taking the fast rising brand from an underground phenomenon to a well-known label. The company is Macleem Sports Wear, founded by New Yorker Haneef Saleem, a digital entrepreneur, and Californian Jay "Boogie" Brantley, a hoop legend on the playground courts and in the professional arenas.

"We make clothes for the player that's the first one in the gym, and the last one to leave," Brantley says. "The kind of person that puts their game before their name." It's that type of passion and commitment that the celebrity fans of Macleem Sports Wear are drawn to, Brantley adds.

Among the celebrities photographed wearing the company's clothing have been various professional basketball players. During the NBA lockout Macleem provided athletic apparel for two of the biggest summer leagues in the country. Kevin Durant, Josh Harden, Demar Derozan, John Wall and Brandon Jennings were all seen wearing Macleem promotional tees. Their uniforms also appeared in the recent film "Game Time," distributed by Lionsgate Films.

But what may be more surprising is the number of singers, rappers and actors, both male and female, that have taken to the brand's strong styling and bold graphics.

WBNA star Quanitra Hollingsworth is loyal to Macleem, and appears on the company's website. Actor James Lesure became a fan of the brand after spotting of Macleem's line of t-shirts paying tribute to some of the legendary basketball courts known among the most hardcore hoop players. Superstar comedian and actor Adam Sandler has been seen sporting the company's "Matrix" shorts. Eddie Murphy and boxing great Manny Pacquiao have also been known to wear Macleem.

Actress/singer Darcy Donavan counts herself among the many fans of Macleem's style. "Sometimes you just want to make a statement, and Macleem has awesome stuff. I love their colors and graphics. I just can't wait to see what they come up with next."

It looks like a lot of people are just going to have to get used to seeing the Macleem name and style more and more, as the brand keeps getting more and more popular among the trend setters and tastemakers, all without a hugely expensive television commercial in sight.

Macleem Sports Wear is available at many stores throughout the United States, or can be purchased online at The company also makes custom logo team sportswear, and is the uniform supplier to the new TRBL basketball league in North Carolina. The company's website is
