Lake County car, boat, and bike owners will soon have an easier time finding experts to upgrade their audio, navigation systems, and vehicle accessories. Through a new partnership with local online marketing company Prospect Genius, Fox Lake-based mobile electronics business Audiosmith is working to improve its Web presence. The move is intended to help prospective customers find Audiosmith's contact information and services quickly and easily through an online search.
In order to remain competitive in an industry filled with both national chains and other local companies, a small business like Audiosmith needs an active, informative, and easily searchable Web site. As many as 78% of American adult Internet users go online for information about a product or service they're interested in purchasing, according to a February 2012 survey conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Project. That means that by boosting its Web presence, Audiosmith will be able to reach out to those Internet-savvy consumers.
Prospect Genius utilizes search engine optimization, or SEO, to boost a Web site's search engine ranking. A higher search engine ranking allows a site to appear closer to the top of a search results page. The intended result is that Lake County residents querying a major search engine such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo! using keywords such as "navigation systems Fox Lake IL" and "car audio video Twin Lakes" will be more likely to encounter Audiosmith's site.
"Studies have shown that sites in the top search results receive the most traffic," states Matt Gallo, a senior Internet marketer for Prospect Genius. "Those clicks can lead to an increase in new customers for a locally owned business such as Audiosmith, as people learn what the business has to offer. Meanwhile, Lake County-area vehicle owners in search of mobile electronics service will be able to find Audiosmith's qualified technicians online with ease. It's a win-win."
