Edinburgh, United Kingdom (PressExposure) January 20, 2012 -- The Matrix Movie is one of the best sci-fi movies of our generation, and it is with good reason that it has a cult following. You can always tell a movie has reached a certain level when it is endless parodied, not to mention it led the way for some improvements in the way science fiction movies are made. By science fiction standards The Matrix certainly set the bar, any other science fiction related movie has to emulate.
Not only does it have one of the most unique storylines to hit our screens by a long way, it also has fantastic ground breaking CGI (Computer Generated Images), as well as some great Kung-Fu, that ties in a nice balance to the storyline, (and ofcourse the directors the Wachowski brothers are great fans of the genre, and even hired the legendary choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping in Fist of Legend for this movie).
Its cult status is fuled not only by the massive cultural following, which has led to the movie and it's two sequels parodied numerously, its directors The Wachowski brothers have refused to do any interviews regarding the movie or its sequels.
It stars Keeanu Reeves who until the had been well known for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, where his dead pan expressions and delivery had endeared him to the MTV generation, which welcomed this movie with open arms.
It also stars the lovely Carrie-Ann Moss, and the well respected Laurence Fishburne.
