Delray Beach, FL (PressExposure) April 30, 2009 -- People take their pets everywhere..., in fact, an entire industry of collars, leashes, strollers and even designer bags is built around this trend. Yet, when it comes to practical considerations for safe and splash-free drinking and snacking on the road, many suppliers - until now - have missed the mark.
"A few years ago, my husband and I went on a long car trip from Florida to Arkansas," explained Nancy Cribb, pet-owner-turned-inventor. "Because my two dogs were along for the ride, we had to stop frequently to pull out the Tupperware bowl, fill it up and coax our dogs to drink up so we could keep moving."
Cribb wondered why there wasn't a better solution for thirsty traveling pets and their owners. "While there was no shortage of travel bowls, none was suitable for car use," she added, "so I decided to take matters into my own hands."
Enter the To Go Bowl, a plastic bowl that holds up to a liter of water and fits snugly into most cars' cup holder consoles, allowing pets to drink at their own leisure throughout the trip. And the best part? The To Go Bowl has a splash guard to prevent spills.
"I thought since no one else had come up with a good solution, I might as well take a shot at it," Cribb said. "We're really pleased with the To Go Bowl. Pet owners all over are telling me that it's a necessity for all of us who travel with our pets - not only in their cars, but also RV's, boats and even golf carts."
The bowl's base, which is removable, can be used to store food or other treats. A flexible sleeve holds the bowl securely in place while driving. The bowl sits flat on the floor without its base so it can transition easily from the car to the hotel room, ground or home.
